October,12, 2011 – Abacus Private Equity completed its sixth structured real estate transaction of 2011. Beyond the core institutional investment property types, Abacus’ transactions this year have also included the bulk purchase of condominium inventory. Abacus believes it has an extremely compelling proposition for developers through its condo investment program, and will continue to look for opportunities across the country to make bulk acquisitions of un-sold inventory from developers, prior to final closings.
Market conditions for real estate transactions in Canada have been favorable throughout 2011 and Abacus expects this trend to continue to close out 2011 and into 2012. Evidence of this is present in Abacus’ real estate pipeline, which currently spans all major Canadian markets and property types.
Abacus looks forward to the completion of several more transactions this year, and to continuing the successful expansion of its platform and relationships.
